My first impression of China is one of respect and great hospitality. At all times, I have been shown a lot of respect. A lot of generous and hospitable people have made me feel “at home”.
I like my students very much. .For the most part, they are eager to learn. However, as students are around the world, you also need to be realistic. There are those that are “naughty” (as you say in China), as well as those that are “achievers”, in other words, they want to learn. But this is what makes teaching interesting and challenging!
I am glad that I have been given the opportunity to teach in China and to enjoy your culture. I would hope that someday you will have the time to come to Canada so that I can repay your hospitality and the welcome that I have received here in China.

I have noticed that some students seem to single out happiness, anger, or depression, to name a few emotions, as their obvious focus; others weave together these and other feelings to enhance their lives. My mission as a teacher in No 7 Middle School is to promote respect for cultural diversity while enhancing emotional richness using scientific ideas and sound pedagogical practices.
It has been said by some that good education is a subversive activity. So it follows to ask, how can a subversive activity increase the survival prospects of the group? The Catch-22 issue is do we conserve old ideas, concepts, attitudes skills and perceptions or we selectively forget (unlearn) the irrelevant concepts and adapt to change. Yes, everybody says the world is changing – but are we with or against these changes. I listen to my students, they teach me the relevant strands of their life and I attempt to link relevant subject matter with these strands.
Robert Frost has written “Education is the ability to listen to almost anything without losing your temper or your self-confidence.” And I attempt to teach and demonstrate this to my students imparting this trait tried and true.

Every student has the ability to learn. Therefore, with hard work, any dream can be achieved!

learning isn't a sometimes thing; it's an all the time thing.

My philosophy of teaching and learning is centered on the idea that all students have the potential for success and we as teachers must act as facilitators and guides to help each student achieve their own personal excellence.

I am very happy and proud to be part of the Canadian Trillium College staff in partnership with No.7 Senior Middle School, here in Quanzhou. As a Canadian Secondary School we offer Chinese students an opportunity to obtain an Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD). Students who are successful in this program find that their English levels are very high and that they are well prepared to take the next big step in their lives- university level education . With an OSSD students have a wonderful chance to choose their next school from many different English language schools around the world. I believe that both our staff and students successfully live up to our motto---LEARNING HOW TO LEARN---A PROMISING FUTURE.
